Alexandria welcomes you to Rescue 2010

The Lifesaving World Championships - Rescue 2010 will take place in the coastal city of Alexandria in Egypt from 2 to 17 October 2010. Pool Events will take place in the Olympic Swimming Pool of Alexandria and Ocean events will take place in Mamoura Beach. Over 3,000 athletes and more then 1,000 delegates, officials and team managers will be welcomed in the competitions.

The Egyptian Diving and Lifesaving Federation is proud to announce that they received the patronnage of the first Lady of Egypt, Mrs Susan Moubarak.

Rescue 2010 will be arranged by the Egyptian Diving and Lifesaving Federation (EDLF) on behalf of the International Life Saving Federation (ILS).

In 2010, lifesaving will celebrate its 100th anniversary. The organisation was created on 27 March 1910. A Gala evening will be organised on 5 October 2010 and all participants are welcome.

The Egyptian Diving and Lifesaving Federation will host:

  • National Teams World Championships.
  • Interclub Open World Championships.
  • Masters World Championships.
  • Surfboat World Championships.
  • IRB Wold Championships.
  • ILS Meetings (Board of Directors, Commissions, Committees).
  • ILS Centennial Gala Dinner.
  • A National Youth (12-16 years) Beach/Ocean Championship.
